There is a term recently coined by computer, uhm, enthusiasts(?) about someone or something that collects e-mail addresses to spam.
Now, on the right side of the Friendster homepage, you will see a small box that asks for your e-mail address. Then it would search your contact list, and would invite everyone there to Friendster.
My biggest concern now is that, since Friendster is affiliated to other online companies, is it possible for them to send spam to the user's contacts?
